Praying Scripture: Colossians 1

Praying scripture can be very powerful, because God's Word is TRUE! (Thank you, Teacher Nancy, for teaching that to my children in their 2 and 3 year old Sunday School class!)  I'm sure that God would always agree the prayers that come straight from Him. So today, let's pray through Colossians 1: 3-13.  I'll pray for our children, and if you are joining me in praying for your own kids, you can just replace my kids names with yours.

Thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayers!

Alyssa, Kyle & Grammy...2008

I always thank you God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when I pray for Alyssa and Kyle, because I know of their faith in Christ Jesus — the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for them in heaven and that they have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel that has come to them. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among Alyssa and Kyle since the day they heard it and understood Your grace in all its truth.
For this reason, since the day Alyssa and Kyle were born, we have not stopped praying for them and asking God to fill them both with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that Alyssa and Kyle may live a life worthy of you, Lord, and may please you in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of You, being strengthened with all power according to your glorious might so that they may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to you, their Father, who has qualified them to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For you, Lord have rescued them from the dominion of darkness and brought them into the kingdom of the Son You love, in whom they have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
