"Mama said that there would be days like this!"
Lives can get so busy, and families can get so tired and cranky. I've noticed that after the busyness of the last few days, my children are finding it harder and harder to be happy. Especially with one another. One minute they are best of friends, and the next they are worst enemies. Teasing is met with irritability. Misunderstandings conclude with huge sighs of aggravation and impatience. There's no sharing, helping one another, or the gift of grace anywhere. I am praying that with a good nights sleep, refreshed attitudes are clearly evident as they begin a new day.
If so, we will ALL be a lot happier!
Today's verse: "Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing." 1 Peter 3:8-9
Lord, because of your great love, we are not consumed. Your mercies are new each morning. Oh, great is your faithfulness. You, Lord, are my portion and therefore I wait on you. This is the day you have made, and I will rejoice in it! I pray, dear Jesus, that you refresh my children's spirits, and as they awake to a new day, may they have a better outlook on life. May they look at the day ahead and rejoice. May they look at each other and find much peace, laughter, and friendship. Lord, quench the irritability that comes with tiredness and impatience, and fill both kids with compassion, patience, love, and kindness for one another. Use your Holy Spirit to speak to their souls, and remind them to use self-control when anger seems the easy answer, and live in peace. Lord, help my children to find deep friendship with one another. What a gift they have in each other, and may they be reminded of that today.
