One Who Understands

"Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let's not let it slip through our fingers. We don't have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He's been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let's walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help."  Hebrews 4:14-16

I laugh at Lyssa's look (on right)!

I'm just the mom.  According to my kids, I don't always understand.

(But I know the One who does.)

I can't comprehend the intensity of tests, speeches, and essays.

(But I know the One who does.)

I have no idea the stress of friendships,

the craziness of full calendars

and the desperation for money. (Right.)

(But I know the One who does.)

Though my kids don't think I always understand, I want them to know the One who does.

God understands our fears.

God sympathizes with our hurts.

God is not "out of touch with our reality".

Today I'm thankful for the One who knows and understands all...

And I pray that they know Him well!

Lord, thank you for being an understanding and sympathetic God.  You know the things we go through, the feelings we have, and the fears we experience.  Oh what joy to know that we can walk right up to you and get whatever you are so ready to give.  I pray that Alyssa and Kyle know and experience for themselves that you can understand all that they are going through in life, and have a sympathetic heart towards them.  May they learn to draw near to you in their times of need and find the peace and joy that can come when they seek you.  Thank you, dear Jesus, for being our great High Priest.
